Your Destination for Injury Prevention and the Injured Worker
At Spine & Sport Physical Therapy & Aquatics, we understand that worker’s compensation costs can be devastating to companies. According to the AMXX Worker’s Comp Resource Center, it would take $6,250 in sales to replace the true cost of just a $500 worker’s compensation claim (assuming an 8% profit margin). Our goal is to help you reduce these costs through injury prevention programs and returning any injured workers back to employment in a safe and timely manner. In fact, our injury prevention program has saved our corporate clients over $664,000 over a six-year period.
We have all your bases covered, promising you will benefit from:
- On-site Safety and Injury Prevention/Health and Wellness Seminars for Your Employees
- Educational Materials Tailored to Your Company’s Needs Teaching Employees Proper Stretching Exercise Techniques
- On-Location Ergonomic Assessments
- Early Intervention Rehabilitation Simulating Work Duties in Therapy
- Work Hardening/Work Conditioning Programs
- Return-to-Work Strategies
Injury Prevention Training Program
Proper back and body mechanics are important to maintain body control and balance, promote efficient and safe movements and to reduce stress and strain to the musculoskeletal system to prevent injury. Our skilled physical therapy staff can instruct individual departments or an entire staff on how to safely perform lift, push, pull, reach, and/or transfer activities at their standing work stations, or how to set-up a desk work station for computer or prolonged sitting work activities. A flexibility exercise program including handouts can be offered for employers wishing to implement a daily stretching routine to prevent injury or strain.
Ergonomics is the science of fitting jobs to people with the goal of reducing or eliminating the potential for work-related injuries. Workplace risk factors for employees, such as sustained or repeated exertions or awkward postures can result in lowered productivity, increased medical costs, increased employee absences, and worker’s compensation claims. Our therapists have received educational training and certification in ergonomics to be able to assess our worker’s compensation clients on how to safely perform their job requirements within their work space to prevent re-injury. The ergonomics training is preferably performed on the job site during the course of therapy with insight gained for the therapist to simulate job tasks during therapy sessions.
Safe and Timely Return to Work
For patients injured on the job, our therapists implement an aggressive work injury program while incorporating functional testing to determine a patient’s current abilities in relation to his or her job demands and pain levels. As we understand that no two injuries are alike, we create an individualized treatment plan that simulates each worker’s job tasks in order to receive the best outcomes. This approach allows us to return patients back to work more quickly, therefore cutting down on worker’s compensation costs and time away from work. Throughout the course of treatment, we promise to proactively communicate a worker’s job restrictions, job modifications and return-to-work abilities to the employer.
